So Dr.'s can perform appendectomies.Yesterday Parker went under the knife. Here is the story... Yesterday Parker called me from school around 2:00pm and said his stomach was bothering him. He was complaining of sharp pains and wanted to come home. One of his friends said it could be his appendix (an 8th grader diagnosing him?...he's destined to be a Dr.) The pain continued to get worse so @ 3:00pm we went to the Dr.'s. After a few painful pokes from the Dr. and a blood draw they determined that his white blood count was high and wanted to do a CAT Scan at the Hospital.
The CAT scan verified what the "8th grade Dr." told him. It was his appendix and that it needed to come out. By 6pm they were preparing to do surgery and 45 minutes later Parker was appendix free. The sad thing about this whole ordeal, Parker said, is that football season is over for him and he will have to watch the last two games from the sidelines.

Wow!!! I am glad that everything is okay. I really do think that is the only reason we have that useless part of our bodies, some doctor has to make money off it :) Wish Parker the best for us. We can't wait to see him play in the NFL! Miss you...
i'm jealous! seriously! i spent all of friday night in the er, and nothing. i'm normal! i'm pretty sure the hospital thinks i'm crazy! i think its my gallbladder, who knows. i may just be crazy and enjoy the drugs!!! i'm glad all went well for him, i just am jealous!!!
Poor kid! Please tell him we are sorry about his football season coming to an end : (. Park is growing up to be so handsome and fun : ).
Holy cow! I can't tell by his face if he's in pain or annoyed that you're taking his picture. I hope he has a speedy recovery.
WOW! Scary. I hope that he is doing better. GOOD LUCK to a quick recovery... Sorry about football... that is the worst!
Poor Parker. Speedy recovery. Teenagers tend to bounce back quick. Unless he wants to milk it to death.
Most people don't look so handsome when they in the hospital. So that is something to be thankful for. :]
There is a direct link between mountain dew deficiency and bad appendix. This could have been prevented!
