Most mother's would not let their girls go out with someone who was wanted by the Law. Let alone, one who was wanted for Shootin' the Sheriff. I figured that since all the mother's were letting their daughters go, why should I be the one to hold my daughters back. They were just meeting at the local church, of all places, for a picnic and some square dancing. What harm could come from that? The meal was prepared by the activity directors and the girls were happy to bring their prize winning salads and desserts. They enjoyed the fine vittles picnic style, with everyone bringing their favorite blanket to dine upon.
The party really took off when all the "wanted" men escorted their Little Ladies to the dance floor. They really kicked up some dirt. 
There was many a tear shed when the evening came to an end and all of the men all rode off into the sunset, leaving their little darlings behind.
