Halloween Traditions

1. Carving pumpkins - We won't be able to get to this until Thursday Evening All Hallows Eve - what better night to do it.

2. Roasting pumpkin seeds. Is there anything better?

3. Watching It's a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. We start doing this on the 1st day of October and anytime we can during the month
4. Watching The Ghost and Mr. Chicken staring Don Knotts a comdy from 1966 (my kids love it) - this is a new tradition this year. We are getting together with the same friends we have gotten together with for the past 8 years. Our kids are slowly turning into teenagers so 1/2 want to go trick or treating and the others want to watch movies, dip Carmel apples, make nachos, scones with yummy peach butter and eat treats from the trick or treat bowl. If were not sick by nights end we hope to say this is the best Halloween Ever.

Do you have any fun Halloween traditions? Love to hear them.

I love traditions, and movies, and caramel apples, and nachos..... I have a great idea....why don't I just come over that night!!!!

Randy and I have carved pupmkins on Halloween day. We have been lucky enough to both have the day off for the last couple of years. It has turned into quite the ordeal. Hey...this sparks a new post for me. Thanks!!!

so, tell me, how do you roast your pumpkin seeds? anna has saved the seeds from our pumpkins for roasting and i have never done it before. she tried it in the toaster oven...my house smelled like burnt popcorn all day long.

i hate to be the scrooge of halloween, but we don't do much. neither dan nor i really get into it. i usually go with katie (and liz when she was here) to visit grandma's and kathy. this year we may go car shopping instead. just as scary as any other halloween tradition:)

i love your pumpkins!!

I am making up a new tradition right now... "Go to Bruce and Natalie's party to eat all their delicious food". That really would be awesome to do some day!

Can i come to your party? I'd rather eat good food than go Trick-or-Treating.
And Liz.....look on line. We made some pumpkin seeds the other night and they were good. But I think they taste like burnt popcorn no matter what.
