Photo Friday

This is a photo of my mom demonstrating how to do the hula at about age 6, the year, 1951. My Grandma Bailey was always making fun costumes for my mom whither it be for the numerous 24th of July parades or just to play dress up. From this photo it was evident that she was destined to spend her retiring years in Hawaii.
That was then...

this is now, almost 57 years later.Yesterday was my mom's 63rd birthday. Happy Birthday Mom! She is celebrating her day by visiting the cites around the Island. My parents are currently vacationing, i mean, serving a mission in Hawaii. They are "playing" um, serving for 1 1/2 years at the Polynesian Cultural Center. They love everything about their mission; meeting people from all over the world, wearing the Hawaiian outfits, the beautiful warm temperatures year round, and playing on the beach. They are having the time of their life...I'm not sure if we will ever get them back.

Wedding Bells in Bozeman

Last weekend we went to Bozeman, Montana (just two hours South west of Billings) to Bruce's niece's wedding. Melanie Spratling married Brodie Bergeson on Saturday, September 27, 2008. It was total Montana Style. Melanie planned the entire event even down to the wheat center piece. The bride was beautiful, the back drop breathtaking, and as Parker would say, "the food was fabulous". It was fun to spend the weekend with family.

Photo Friday

This gem is from our family photos this year. Talking about keeping it real. I don't think anyone but me enjoys having family photos done.
I seem to recall a similar photo four years ago, which I might ad was when we had our last family pictures taken. I don't think I'm asking too much when they only have to do this every four years.

and yet another...
This one is my ultimate favorite. They did this one just for me and it makes me smile every time I see it. I love these kids.
Here's to keeping it real.

I just love a BARGAIN!?!

It is 12:55 and for the last 4 hours I have been looking for my battery charger for my camera. I am now taking another 10 minutes and blogging about it. What a wasted morning. After praying and searching the house, the car, and everyplace in between I caved. To make a very long, frustrating, story short...I just purchased a new battery for a mere $22.50. You may ask a mere $22.50?!? It did started out at $95. After searching the web on several different cites I found it for $45 and finally at 22.50. What a BARGAIN. Not that I want to pay that, but seeing that I am paying 1/4 of what I thought I might of had to I might as well think of it as a bargain. I just better not find that LOST charger.

1st Day only 3 weeks late

The first day of school. This year Parker rules the roost being in 8th grade. The girls are so excited to be in junior high lockers and all. They now get to walk to school since we live just a few minutes away. Parker loves that he can leave whenever he is ready.
A few things that I love-
  • My son (who is now taller than me)
  • My blondie who does whatever I ask (most the times)
  • My little helper who knows how much I enjoy a clean home.
  • My little Sid who loves to tell me everything and share all of her thoughts with me.
  • I'm loving that school has begun just for the fact that we have a schedule again.
  • I love that we live just minutes from the school - it is great since the girls started basketball and they can walk to practice.
  • I love that I have 8 hours a day to accomplish my list of things to do....and yet I have not completed one thing on it.
  • I love being in our new home and that we have a basement.
