The Celebration
Decorations: Room decorated with traditional crate paper streamers and balloons (we traditionally decorate his room the night before his b-day). Dinner: Don Luis for dinner (the best Mexican restaurant in town, according to Parker). His cake: Double Chocolate Oreo Cheesecake. Gifts: Old Navy jacket and shirt and a much wanted painted ball gun.

SNOW DAY
Today Bailey and I took a non-0fficial snow day and went skiing. Last week Parker and I took a day and went skiing as well. We just decided we needed to spend a day together and what better way then to be in the beautiful outdoors. http://www.redlodgemountain.comIt was as though we had the mountain to ourselves. Midweek skiing is the best, no lines (as if there were ever any lines in Montana)temp was about 40 with bright blue skies. It was a much needed break for both Bailey and I and some one on one time with each other.

It is not a Calling.
What has taken up my time for the past month? I received a called back in December from our Stake Relief Society President. She asked if I would be the new Service Day Coordinator of our community Service Day(see article below). She said it is not a church calling just an assignment from the stake. Going into it, knowing that it would be a lot of work, but never realizing that it would be all consuming.
Since it is only an assignment, and not a calling that means I still receive the blessings of my current calling as 2nd counselor in the Young Womens (over the Beehives). I never knew life could be this busy...what am i saying?!? It was this busy, at one time, almost 11 years previous, but that was 5,245 diapers and 300 cans of formula ago.
We had our first meeting yesterday, our next one in April and then we are good to go to work for 2 days in May... that is why my blog has been somewhat neglected. I am on the computer for 6 hours a day but it is typing, organizing, and emailing information out not enjoying my friends and family blogs.

Women's service day coming up this week
The seventh annual "Hearts and Hands Service Project" will take place next Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5, in Billings.The goal of the service project is "to meet together and demonstrate through good works our gratitude for our blessings and to bless the lives of those around us," said Florence Diede, spokeswoman for the event.The two-day event is hosted by women of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It will take place at the LDS Stake Center, at 1640 Broadmoor Drive in the Heights."We invite and look forward to joining with women of all denominations - our neighbors - as we unite in a spirit of loving and giving to those in our community who are in need," said Diede, who is with the Billings Montana East Stake. "We do what women of all faiths do - nurture and bless the lives of others."
Thirty-five organizations in the Billings community and surrounding communities will be recipients of articles donated from the work of the two days. The organizations include Care Net Pregnancy Center, Deaconess Foundation, Dress for Success, Family Services, Family Tree, the Foster Child Network, Gateway House, Project Hope, Red Cross, the Ronald McDonald House, Tumbleweed, Women's Shelter, Young Families, Angel Fund and more."We are clear that one of the main purposes of the event is for women from the Billings community to join together to learn about each other and give service, not about the 'numbers' of items donated," Diede said. "Yet as one looks back at the numbers, they are staggering - an impressive testimony of what women can do when they unite their hands in service from the heart."During the past six years, Diede said, Hearts and Hands has been able to meet the needs of various organizations community by donating nearly 750 quilts, more than 2,100 hygiene kits, 400 units of blood, nearly 750 layette sets, 250 wheelchair bags, close to 1,500 hooded infant towels, more than 700 school kits, nearly 900 clothing protectors, close to 700 friendship baskets and hundreds of boxes of used clothing.Typically, 250 to 300 women participate, Diede said. On Friday afternoon and evening, participants will be quilting and taking part in the blood drive.All workstations will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the LDS Stake Center at 1640 Broadmoor Drive.For information, call Donna Ives at 256-5371.
