What's in a Name?

We would like to introduce you to Parker's pig. He is a Poland China, Yorkshire Cross for all of you non-pig enthusiasts that is his breed. Parker and Bruce drove to Cali, a city in Wyoming, not Cali the State and picked up this little pig, along with nine of it's siblings and two from another litter. They dropped off six of the little piggies to other fellow swine enthusiasts and brought the other five little piggies to their new home.
This will be their new home for the next four months. At their new home they will live the good life of daily walks, grand buffet meals and mud baths in the local stream. The only thing we need now is a NAME for him. We welcome your suggestions. If we like your suggestion you could win an all expense paid trip (road trip that is, we'll pay for your windshield washer fluid) to Montana to have your picture taken with this world famous PIG! To steal a line from Charlotte's Web...He's SOME PIG.

Tuesdays 10 Organizing Tasks you Can Do In Two Minutes

I was looking for some organization tips and came across these. Yes, I am desperate for a post, thought they might be helpful.

Have an extra minute or two to spare? Use it to reduce your clutter, rearrange your space or get a quick to-do done.

Here are 10 organizing tasks you can do in two minutes.
1. Weed out 5 file folders. While weeding out your entire filing system can seem overwhelming, anyone can weed out just 5 file folders. You won't even break a sweat!

2. Sort your mail pile. Make 4 small piles out of your one big pile: To Toss, To Do, To File, To Give Away. Your mail will be much easier to handle when you have it properly sorted.

3. Delete 20. If your email inbox is overflowing, it's definitely time to start cleaning it out. Go through your email and delete at least 20 that are cluttering up your in box.

4. Pick it up. Go into one room with a large, empty hamper. Pick up every item you have that is currently out of place. As soon as you have another two minutes, use that time to put these things back in their assigned homes.

5. Corral your plastic containers. Corral all of your plastic containers. Have too many? Get rid of a bunch. Match up lids and containers so you don't have to search through the pile when you need one.

6. Make an appointment. Have you been putting off making a haircut appointment for yourself, a veterinary appointment for your pet or a review appointment with your insurance agent? Use two minutes to make that appointment, and check that task off on your to do list.

7. Unload the dishwasher. It only takes a few minutes, and your dishwasher will be ready to clean the next load of dishes.

8. Write out a few checks. If you can never bring yourself to pay all of your pending bills in one sitting, do one or two at a time--while you're waiting for water to boil or when you're on telephone hold.

9. Unify your clothes closet. Put all shirts together in one section, all pants in another, all dressy clothes in another and so on. Have another two minutes? Put in a few hooks to hold belts and purses.

10. File photos. Even if you have boxes of photos yet to be sorted, if you just spend two minutes each night sorting them into a categorized photo box, the job will get accomplished before you know it.

Brace Yourself

We're tightening things up around here. We have become a little laxed and decided it is time to straighten things up and put a smile on.

Our conversation on the way to the Orthodontist this morning @ 9am -

Parker: "Nick (a friend from school who has braces) said you should get something cold after they put on the braces. We should probably get me a frosty."

His is always thinking about food.

Mom: "That sounds like a good idea. I'll get you a frosty if you let me take your picture."
Knowing how much my son loves frosties I figured this would work. I find that bribery works well.

Parker: in his monotone, slow drawl voice - "O Kay Mom".

I love this boy.

Daddy/Daughter/Daughter/Daughter Date

Most mother's would not let their girls go out with someone who was wanted by the Law. Let alone, one who was wanted for Shootin' the Sheriff. I figured that since all the mother's were letting their daughters go, why should I be the one to hold my daughters back. They were just meeting at the local church, of all places, for a picnic and some square dancing. What harm could come from that?

The meal was prepared by the activity directors and the girls were happy to bring their prize winning salads and desserts. They enjoyed the fine vittles picnic style, with everyone bringing their favorite blanket to dine upon.

The party really took off when all the "wanted" men escorted their Little Ladies to the dance floor. They really kicked up some dirt.

There was many a tear shed when the evening came to an end and all of the men all rode off into the sunset, leaving their little darlings behind.

Feeding Time

Another sign of Spring is feeding our friends lambs. Each year our friend picks up 12-14 lambs and raises them. For 3 - 4 weeks we get to help out with their feedings. You feed them milk from a bottle. She has them all numbered so we know which lamb we have fed. The kids love taking care of them. She feeds them every 6 hours (6am, noon, 6pm and midnight). We help out with the 6pm feeding. The girls really want to do a midnight feeding...we'll see. The baby lambs are so cute, they just nuzzle right up to you. It is so fun watching the kids with them. They (my kids) can't get enough of them (the lambs) or maybe it's the lambs can't get enough of my kids. All I know is that my kids are in heaven. If it was up to my girls we would help out with every feeding.
