Signs of Spring

Friday's photos: Reminders of Spring.. it is not too far off. Sidney's original chalk and glue "Spring" drawing, and preparing for our schools track and field day. We celebrated March 20 as the first official day of spring under a white blanket of snow. Here in Montana we just take our time, usually by mid May it begins to warm up.

It's Official

Spring is here! Good thing the calendar states that March 20 is the first official day of Spring. With the snow we received this morning you would never have known.

I love Spring. I love that the bulbs in my yard starting to poke their heads out, so do the bunnies. With a little preventive care and a good dose of Blood Meal (one thing we learned about here in Montana) they stay away.

Easter time is always fun from the decorations to decorating Easter Eggs to the candy. I'm a chocolate fan. So anything with chocolate is good. One thing I love and can enjoy and have enjoyed, the whole bag of Robin Eggs.
Our Good Friday plans consist of watching movies and boiling several dozen eggs to decorate tonight. Basically, we are just taking the day off.
Welcome Spring!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my Dad's 65th Birthday He has arrived. My dad enjoys many things from drawing to carving to story telling. These are also the things my kids love about him. The kids love when he sends them letters and he draws pictures on them. When Parker became a scout he carved him a walking stick for his future boy scout hikes and painted most of the scout symbols on it. It is quite the walking stick and Parker loves to take it on his hikes. The stories are a classics. My kids love to have Grandpa tell them bed time stories when he comes to visit or when we visit them. The funny thing though is he tells them so many stories that he sometimes forget where he left of but the kids are always good to remind him.

This past year my Dad had two new knees put in. You would think he was the 6 - Million Dollar Man - I haven't seen him since his last surgery, but whenever I call he's running all over Mesa, Arizona. (they have turned into snowbirds and headed south for the winter) If we can ever get them back up our way we'll have to challenge him to a race.

Have a fabulous day Dad! We Love You.

Spring Break

We began our Spring Break with colds and not feelling quite up to par. So we decided to just relax at home and do what ever we felt up to. We watched the sun set,
we watched a lot of movies, played TWISTER,
Sidney made a dress for her doll,
and Hannah just took a lot of pictures. We head back to school on Monday. It was nice to have a week off and just relax. We are excited for school to be out...only three more months.

Horse Whisperers

My little Sidney has spent hours in our back yard. Spending time with her new found friends. This is Beauty
and Willow.

We haven't been able to capture Chester, Chestnut ,Vanilla and Tanny on "film" yet. What a fabulous hobby this has become for her. She spends hours out there feeding and petting them. Why didn't we invest in this sooner?...I'm not quite sure? I'll have to ask my neighbor that, they are his horses.

Never to Old to Learn Something NEW

Did you know you that a potato produces electricity? And I eat these? I should be powering my house with them.

Did you know Coke and Mentos makes quite an explosion?
We learned Diet Coke works better...but anyways...Why are we spending all this money on fireworks for the 4th?

That you can make a sunset in a jar with a flashlight and milk? go figure

That no matter what science project your 13 year old son is doing he can always find other ways to use the materials..."if a lemon will light up a light bulb will it LIGHT Parker up?"

One Saturday, four science projects completed, One Happy Mom.
